Preliminary treatment

Treatment starts with a preliminary stage at which the large particles are removed before the water enters the main treatment systems. In a wastewater treatment plant we have different kinds of machines and all of them are specific to their particular function. Therefore it’s important to avoid unwanted objects from entering these valuable machinery. Preliminary treatment helps with removing plastics, rags, logs, cloths and other large objects.

Three important level are

• Coarse screening
• Comminutors
• Grit chambers

This is also the part where we have to deal with flow measurements and flow equalization. It’s for the wastewater overflowing at peak times and flow measurements help to support the upcoming treatment processes.
