Operator-in-Training certification in the province of Ontario

There’s a limited number of colleges provide a program that qualifies students to attend Operator in training examination. The first step is to obtain an ELC or Entry level certification. Or a candidate who has a high school diploma in Canada is also qualified.

OITs are able to work in student operator positions or OIT positions. Most jobs are in with municipalities and towns, while the private companies usually go for experienced labour. Schools and colleges are doing the job placements for public sector openings.

OWWCO or Ontario water and wastewater certification office is conducting all the level’s exams and responsible for issuance of license. The application must be submitted at least 4weeks prior to the date of examination and OWWCO has an exam schedule in their site (https://owwco.ca/exam-schedule/).
